At Trimble Dimensions in Las Vegas, Qonic was proud to be named finalists in the Trimble 0–60 Challenge. This competition highlights the most innovative solutions that can accelerate BIM workflows, and being selected as a finalist was a strong recognition of our vision: making BIM faster, more accessible, and truly tool‑agnostic.

The Demonstration Snapshot:

We presented an innovative workflow that connects SketchUp directly to Qonic's cloud-based BIM platform via Trimble Connect. This allowed us to demonstrate in real-time how teams can:

  1. Import SketchUp geometry that initially lacks structured data.
  2. Have Qonic automatically add structure and enrich elements with IFC data.

The Result:

Instead of time-consuming manual rework, the SketchUp geometry was instantly transformed into construction-ready BIM, enabling crucial applications immediately:

  • Easy Quantity Take-offs (QTOs)
  • Construction Drawing Generation directly from the model
  • Coordination and Clash Detection

The power of the demo was in its simplicity: Qonic keeps everything synchronized, making design data usable from day one and effectively closing the gap between conceptual speed and construction precision.

The Future of Open BIM

Being named a finalist in the Trimble 0–60 Challenge not only gave us the opportunity to showcase the power of Qonic's model unification but also highlighted that the industry is ready for a more open and accessible approach to BIM.
